Christopher Schneider was a long time arts critic in San Diego who always had very kind words to say about my work and Randy Newman's as well. It happens that he shared a birthday with Randy, so I thought it might be nice to play Randy's lovely elegiac "Dexter's Tune" from AWAKENINGS at Chris' memorial service - 9/25/21 - in fact, as I later realized, the first time I played piano in public in almost two years. Special thanks to my friend John Schneider, Chris' brother -
and RIP Christopher Schneider.
